Summary of Responsibilities

    • Seeking qualified candidates for Field Construction Manager/Superintendent working on Residential and Commercial Projects from $250k – $3m in value. The General Superintendent is a critical position within BOYD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. (BCC). The General Superintendent is responsible for the field management of all ongoing BCC projects. The General Superintendent will actively participate in the management and development of the project’s construction schedule, project phasing and logistics plan prior to construction.

The Relentlessly Proactive General Superintendent


  • Develops project schedules with the Project Manager and / or Estimator prior to the commencement of work.
  • Ensures all areas of scope are covered through review of the contract drawings prior to commence
  • Schedules selected sub-contractor onsite meetings to commencement
  • Thoroughly understands CD’s and all sub-contractor obligations


  • Solely responsible for the completion of “Daily Field Reports” and uploading to appropriate platform.
  • Performs daily safety checks to ensure all working conditions and work habits are in compliance with local and federal codes and regulations.
  • Maintain and update construction schedule.
  • Maintain and update “As-Builts”.
  • Appropriately directs any Boyd Assistant Superintendents and / or Boyd Laborers.
  • Plans and directs the efficient use of Subcontractors, equipment and materials to secure high quality construction.
  • Ensures that the “Boyd Brand” is conveyed through quality and detail.
  • Communicates with Project Manager regarding any contract conflicts / changes.
  • Communicates with architect/Engineer via use of RFI’s
  • Responsible for coordinating all inspections and for the communication with Building Inspectors.
  • Assists sub-contractors to work efficiently together.
  • Takes responsibility of such project(s) over all progression
  • Maintain constant communication with main office

Project Close-out

  • Delivers fully maintained and updated “As-Built” construction drawings to Project Manager.
  • Delivers progress photos for each phase / detail of construction project – Completed throughout “Construction” process.
  • Delivers “Daily Field Reports” – Completed throughout “Construction” process.

Subcontractor Management

  • Holds subcontractors to the Relentlessly Proactive and BCC Way standards
  • Oversees and coordinates all subcontractors work to ensure that all details or construction are in accordance with the contract documents and approved submittals.

General Requirements for All Positions

  • Must know Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be self-motivated & punctual.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
  • Must be professional and polished in appearance and speech.
  • 5 plus years of construction management experience in a field supervisory role (foreman is acceptable).
  • Tenant Improvement/Restaurant Build-Out/ Residential experience a plus!
  • Ability to direct the work of others including subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
  • Well versed in safety and government regulations (eg ,OSHA) with success in implementation on a job site.
  • Team Player, ability to manage multiple projects
  • Thorough knowledge of all trades involved in residential/commercial construction
  • Strong organizational skills – Ability to multitask
  • Tech savvy with ability to take digital photos and upload to main files; hand held computing
  • Must be comfortable working with a tablet computer for reporting and viewing plans
  • Work requires the ability to operate an automobile and have a valid state driver’s license
